NPWS Gloucester River Campground

This is a picturesque riverside camping and picnic area at Gloucester Tops on the eastern edge of Barrington Tops National Park. It is operated by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPSW) and offers caravan parking and ramped facility access. The Gloucester River Campground is a great spot for families and groups of all ages who love wide open, natural spaces. It is easily accessed by 2WD vehicles but care should be taken when crossing the numerous river fords.

Pick your spot beside the flowing river and set up your campsite among the trees. With shady spots and spacious grassy areas, there’s plenty of room for the kids to run around while you relax. Spend a couple of peaceful days swimming in the river and exploring Sharpes Creek walking track and Gloucester River walking track.

Activities: camping, swimming, fishing, astronomy and star gazing, birdwatching, picnics and barbecues.  To get there: Turn off Bucketts Way South into Gloucester Tops Road and continue to Gloucester River campground. Facilities: picnic tables, gas/electric barbecues (free), non-flush toilets, wood barbecues (must bring your own firewood), trackhead/access point.
